September 30th is Canada's National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. This is the first national holiday meant for us to honour the survivors of the Canadian Residential School System and to remember those who never made it home. It is a day that calls upon those who are able to make a difference & those who are able to take actions towards achieving reconciliation. Here at Spirit Bear Coffee Co., we believe that every one is capable of promoting change, working towards reconciliation, and honouring those who went through the residential schools.

Reconciliation is not just the responsibility of the government. It is a responsibility that belongs to everyone. 

A portion of proceeds from all purchases of these t-shirts will be used to go towards truth & reconciliation activities and elders gatherings in communities across Canada. 

B.E.A.R.S. stands for Bear Education, Awareness, & Resource Society. The name reflects the expansion of our human & carnivore coexistence programs to include the large carnivore species. B.E.A.R.S. is focused on promoting bear smart approaches for communities, recreationalists, hunters, new residents to Canada, students, businesses, etc. Safely coexisting with bears is possible & we can reduce obstacles to bear recovery & release as well. "A fed bear is a dead bear" therefore, our primary goal is preventing bear exposure to human provided foods of any kind.
